The Opportunity

We are partnering with a company that supplies and services CNC, robotics and industrial automation parts for manufacturers. It sells through a family of large ecommerce and brand websites, and most of the traffic to those sites starts with a search.

This is an SEO role built on writing. About 70 percent of the work is on-page: long-form blog articles, web pages and product copy that you plan and write yourself. The rest covers off-page SEO, organic social posts and the occasional day photographing products in the warehouse. You also help the team write for AI search, so the sites show up when buyers ask tools like ChatGPT.

You report to the Director of Marketing and work in the office with the people who know the products, so you can walk down the hall and ask them questions as you write. The role has no direct reports.

What You'll Own

  • Research keywords and build a content plan for the ecommerce sites, tied to the products and searches that bring in qualified leads and sales.
  • Write long-form SEO content (blog articles, landing pages and web page copy) plus shorter product descriptions.
  • Optimize pages and internal linking across a large product catalogue, and rework existing pages for rankings, readability and conversion.
  • Spot technical issues such as schema, breadcrumbs and crawl problems, and brief the web developer, who handles the code.
  • Run link building and other off-page work, and manage the working relationship with the outside SEO agency.
  • Write content for AI search and answer engines, and build practical AI-assisted workflows that speed up research and drafting without lowering quality.
  • Produce organic social posts, email campaigns and product photography when launches, campaigns and events call for them.
  • Report on organic traffic, rankings, leads, conversions and content performance, with clear recommendations.

What You Bring

  • 5+ years in SEO, content marketing or digital marketing, with SEO content you wrote yourself.
  • Experience on a large website: ecommerce, a product catalogue or a big multi-page site.
  • Strong keyword research and content strategy skills, and a record of measurable organic growth.
  • Working knowledge of technical SEO: schema, breadcrumbs, internal linking and link building.
  • Hands-on use of Google Analytics, Google Search Console and an SEO platform such as Semrush, Ahrefs or Moz.
  • The experience to run the SEO content program from your first weeks, with little ramp-up.
  • Comfort with mixed days: a blog article one day, social posts or product photos the next.
  • Availability to work in the La Vergne office four days a week. This is non-negotiable.

Who Gets Our Attention

  • Writing samples. The content you have written yourself is the first thing we look at.
  • Large-site experience. Ecommerce SEO ranks highest, and industrial experience is a plus on top of it.
  • Marketing experience in industrial, manufacturing, automation, robotics or technical B2B settings.
  • Experience writing for AI-powered search, generative engine optimization (GEO) or answer engines.
  • Time at a larger SEO agency.
  • Basic graphic design in Adobe Creative Suite, Canva or a similar tool.
  • Familiarity with CRM and marketing automation platforms.
  • A bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business or a related field.

The Person

You are a writer who understands search. You can set the strategy and then sit down and write the article yourself. You manage several priorities without close direction, and you are as comfortable asking a production supervisor on the shop floor about a part as you are presenting results to leadership.

Why This One?

Your writing sits at the center of the role. The product experts are in the building, a web developer handles the code, and writing for AI search is already part of the work.

Location

La Vergne, Tennessee, in the client's office four days a week. This role is not remote.

  • The office sits inside an industrial and warehouse setting.
  • Regular contact with company leadership, customer service and production supervisors on the shop floor.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.
  • Minimal travel, as needed.

Compensation

USD $70,000 to $80,000 base salary, full time, direct hire.
