Level: Technician III | Type: Full Time | Location: Dallas/Fort Worth, TX (field-based) | Rate: $33.00 to $35.00 per hour

The role

Our client installs, maintains, and repairs integrated electronic security systems: video surveillance, access control, and intrusion detection. They need a senior technician in the Dallas/Fort Worth area who can carry that work end to end, from planning and procurement through installation, daily upkeep, and repair.

You will work alongside their service and engineering teams, but on site you are the one the customer looks to when something breaks, and the one teammates call when they are stuck. This is a hands-on role for someone who knows security electronics cold and likes owning the whole system, not just the service ticket.

This position requires an active federal security clearance, or the eligibility to obtain one. Veterans and active military members transitioning to civilian status are encouraged to apply.

What you will own

• Installation, maintenance, and repair of video surveillance (VSS), access control (ACS), and intrusion detection (IDS) systems
• Planning and procurement for new work, plus preventive maintenance, upgrades, and replacements across every system on site
• Annual testing of the intrusion detection system
• A live inventory of all electronic security equipment, kept current as gear is added, upgraded, or retired
• Electrical troubleshooting, device testing, component and camera installation, and the software monitoring systems behind them
• Working from building and floor plans, layout sheets, circuit schematics, and manufacturer technical guidance
• Work orders from open to close, with a clear written record of the work performed; requests arrive by email, phone, and text
• Serving as the technical expert for the customer and a technical resource for the rest of the team

Expect occasional overtime and the odd task that falls outside this list.

What we require

• Hands-on VSS, ACS, and IDS experience. This one is mandatory.
• Demonstrated training in electronics and circuitry fundamentals, basic wiring, fiber optic connections, and running and troubleshooting CAT6
• Experience installing, maintaining, upgrading, and supporting ACS, IDS, and VSS hardware and software
• Formal electronics training through technical school or vendor certification programs
• Skill with the standard test kit: lineman handset, video test monitor, digital multimeter, and toner tracer
• Installer certification on equipment lines such as Software House, Identiv/Hirsch, Honeywell, Bosch, or Exacq
• A valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
• GED
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Ability to lift and move items up to 25 lbs
• Eligibility for a federal security clearance
• Successful completion of pre-employment screening

What will set you apart

• Three or more years on commercial or government installations
• Configuration experience with centralized monitoring platforms such as Honeywell, Bosch, or Identiv
• Formal training or experience as a low-voltage electrician

• Remote position with daily on-site work; you must be local to the Dallas/Fort Worth, TX area

Compensation

• $33.00 to $35.00 per hour to start, set with experience
